DREHER ISLAND STATE RECREATION AREA is a RV Park in or near the town of Chapin. It is a slightly larger than medium park with a claimed 97 spots to park your home away from home. This park has pull thru sites for your convenience. If you are driving a Big Rig, then you are in luck since there are some extra long pads. Electric hookups are provided. Do not expect to run both air conditioners as 30 amp seems to be the largest service. No need to fill the freshwater since there are water hookups. You will want to ensure an empty gray and black tank as sewer connections are not provided here. If you are lucky, you might be able to use your cellular for internet, but otherwise there is no 802.11 WiFi. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Go ahead and bring along little Sparky since this park is Animal Friendly. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. A neat thing about this park is that it does have some waterfront attached to it. If the days get hot, you can enjoy the shade trees that exist here. If you ever get near Chapin make sure you stop on by the DREHER ISLAND STATE RECREATION AREA.
