   We are members at the North Folk RV Resort in Front Royal, Virginia, and to tell the truth, it is not really for us. The park manager works for the President of the BOD, and this doesn’t work well. In the off season, the President stays at the home of the park manager. There is year round camping in some areas, and they changed the rules recently to say if you have two memberships and have had them longer then whatever date, you can stay 365 days, otherwise you can only stay 220 days. You have to move every two weeks unless you have more then one membership. All kinds of new rules, whatever works for the time. The BOD changes rules to whatever works for them. We use to help out around the park with different things, but you would be doing things and the paid employees would be standing around talking. If you ask about it at meetings they tell you what they think you want to hear and when everyone leaves the meeting the BOD has a little side meeting and make totally different rules, but doesn’t bother to let the person know that asked the question to start with. Half the time the place is not mowed, they allow children in diapers in the pools, even though they provide a pool for children under the age of four, the volleyball courts have not been touched in two years. When you report something to the management, they just say that there is nothing they can do, they don’t call the police because they don’t want them to have any control over the park. The washer and dryer get broken into all the time. They say they have 24/7 security, which they do, however, they only have a rover every now and then. They have storage, but you have to take everything out of your unit because others take the batteries, gas canisters and anything else they can get their hands on. They say it is private property and the laws don’t apply, but if you ask a question they say that is the law. Guys ride their motorcycles around all the time with children on them with no helmets. People ride around in their golf carts with beer in their hands and no one says anything. Kids under age drive the golf carts. Kids take golf carts that are not theirs and crash them. Some of the members are so out of touch that they think folks that are of any other nationality, color, or educated don’t belong in “THEIR” campground. Every year they ask for Work Campers but no one shows up and they can’t understand why. This is a beautiful area and this campground could be so much more if they only had a manager and BOD that really cared about the place. The standards are so low that you rally cannot compare it to anything in the area. Do not go by pictures that are on website as they are so outdated. The restroom are really old, the general store is even worst, the mini golf is a joke but management has grand ideas for improvements that really do not benefit anyone but a select few. Management has the power to suspend someone for a violation of the rules which is a joke, because they have target few they are looking at, just waiting for them to mess up just a little bit and they suspend them for a year. The manager can only suspend for 30 days, but the BOD meets and decides on a more reasonable suspension, whatever….Not real happy with the membership but the price is right, you just need to know who you can trust or stay to yourself.
