LAKE THOMPSON STATE RECREATION AREA is a RV Park in or near the town of Lake Preston. It is a slightly larger than medium park with a possible 103 rv sites to park your recreational vehicle. This park does not seem to have pull thru sites. Your large Class A should have no trouble in the longer slots this park has. Electric hookups are provided. Do not expect to run both air conditioners as 30 amp seems to be the largest service. At a minimum, make sure you have some drinking water as water hookups are not provided. You will not be able to stay indefinitely as there are no sewer connections. Be prepared to actually put the computer down and enjoy your coffee as there is no 802.11 WiFi. You had better hope you have satellite if you are a Couch Potato – no cable tv at this park. Your pet is welcome at this park. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. We tend to enjoy parks that have some connection to a waterfront, like a river or lake – and this park has that. Some shade trees do exist, which also make the park more scenic and attractive. Do not just drive by Lake Preston – instead stop and rest at LAKE THOMPSON STATE RECREATION AREA.
