One of the neat things about the Oliver travel trailers is that they are built more like a boat than a house. If you look on their web site, you’ll see that they have a fiberglass shell based construction. The pros to this would be that every unit is very consistent. If they can sell enough of these, then I would think they would be lower cost since they SHOULD have to spend less time building each unit. That is a big “if”, but it makes sense. The shell construction should mean better 4 season use, more impervious to weather, lighter, and longer life (yes I believe that).
On the “cons” side I would think that any “remodeling” projects in the after market would be super difficult. That probably isn’t a big deal, but it was at least something I thought about. Another con would be that after market structural repairs might be more expensive – crack a shell and you have to replace the shell.
But if you go to the car industry – the unibody pros more than make up for any of its cons.
This trailer looks really neat.
