On a recent trip to Wimberley to get away from the hectic Austin my wife and I decided to go capture all of the giant cowboy boots that were scattered around Wimberley.
The boots were an idea put together to showcase the western charm and artistic “bent” of Wimberley. Wimberley itself is an amazing city of artisans. Not just painters, but artists of all kinds – sculpters of all types – brass, copper, other metals, clay, marble and junk – yes junk. Painters, mosaic makers, and almost anyone visually oriented you can think of.
Then there are the actors and actresses – there are several venues for live plays in Wimberley.
Even when we visited the Wimberley Trade Days, as we walked along the paths visiting the booths of the artisans you see amazing things. One such thing is that over the last three years there is a boy playing blues guitar and singing. He sings no matter how rainy, hot or in-climate the weather might be. Over three years, I can hear a real musician develop. I’m sure I’ll be hearing about him someday. He seems to have the moxie and is putting in the practice time to be great.
On another visit, Sheri and I were just sitting in the local coffee shop and we started to talk up an attractive gal hoping to get the internet password. It turns out that people you just talk up are famous folks. This gal’s name was Bonnie Bishop and she can do things with her voice that ought to be outlawed in several states. More on Bonnie in another article though…
Today I just want to share the boots with you…
Enjoy.
Everyone of these boots is quite beautiful. We sure enjoyed seeing every one of them.
