RV52 has been in operation for several years. This site gets 10’s of 1000’s of visitors every month. Honestly, I get more traffic than most people think.
Part of RV52 is a directory of RV parks.
In all this time NOT ONE, not a single park, has ever engaged me and had a frank discussion on how to improve their marketing or success on the world wide web.
…until this week.
I received a comment from Debbie, the manager of Crossroads RV Park in Mohave Valley, Arizona. I print her comment without any editing whatsoever. Why don’t you leave a comment and give Debbie some ideas?
“Hello, I am the Manager of an RV Park in Arizona. When looking at ways to make and keep your tenants happy and as comfortable as possible, I thought why not ask those who know best…. Other RV’ers. (asked Tenants first of coarse) So I would love to hear any and all suggestions and opinions. Be it activities, way things are set up, communication lines and/or anything else you can think of that you either look for at/in RV Park or have experienced at an RV Park that was unique or different way that created a positive result. I want to thank each and everyone of you in advance for sharing this information with me and all those who choose to read it. Have a very Blessed Day! Belated Happy Fathers Day to all of you Fathers, Grandfathers or Fathers to be out there.”

Howdy Debbie, When I RV, it’s usually when I have to travel for business (attend a convention, meeting, etc.) So for me:
*Easy reservation system, phone or internet with an informative website
*Good wifi is a must and preferably free unless the site price is low.
*When I Pull into the site, I want the utilities to work,
*the atmosphere to be quiet and
*the grounds to be clean.
Personally I have no desire to participate in activities. But that’s me. So although many people desire this experience, others may want:
*a party atmosphere,
*a pool or spa and
*exercise machines.
I think that your question can only be answered by getting to know YOUR particular guests.
In the park I manage the guest type varies with the seasons.
*Fall and winter snow birds and retired full timers seem to really like park activities available, planned trips, activity rooms for card playing, quilting, crafts, potlucks, etc.
*The spring break and Summer holiday families want arranged discounts to amusement parks, ideas for places to take the kids, a few outdoor activities like fishing, hiking or geocaching.
All RVers want confidence that their park and family is safe and secure.
But above all, whether it’s me or any other RVer or traveler, we all want to feel special. Most may not admit that outright but special treatment gives anyone good feeling about wherever they are visiting. If I call the office for wifi instructions or difficulty getting on… a park could just say “I don’t see why, we’re on in the office.” or they could stop by your RV and assist. Researching places they want to visit and hooking them up with an RV service or the best little known local restaurant are all ways you can go the extra mile. Fortunately most RVers make this easy because they are such a friendly bunch. I find that even if you are missing an amenity they usually prefer, they won’t think about it when they write a review because the “over the top” attitude of the staff is more remembered.
Talk a lot don’t I? Looking forward to following this thread so I see others thoughts and be able to better serve our guests and new RV friends.
