Hi, great site!
Buying a new class c, bunk house , so awning is only 11′
Can we put an awning (not topper) on slide out?
RV52.com asked Carefree awnings in Colorado their opinion:
Dear RV52 (Marlan),
Good morning and thank you for your email. We are seeing many patio style awnings being installed on the slide face. It can certainly be done if a few rules are followed. The arms must be mounted into coach structure and if motorized arms, they will need to be hardwired to a dedicated 12V power source. For 12V awnings at less than 12’, the arms must be set at an equal pitch to avoid any arm damage when the awning is retracted in the rain release setting. The arms are very specific in size and must follow the mounting specs to assure a proper fit.
I hope this helps answer the question. If there is anything else with we can assist with, please do not hesitate to contact us.
