THOUSAND TRAILS/CHESTNUT LAKE is a RV Park in or near the town of Port Republic. It is a largish and maybe almost large park with a claimed 190 spots to park your recreational vehicle. This park has pull thru pads if you are uncomfortable with backing your rig. Do not worry too much about the length of your Motorhome since the sites are built for large RVs. You will be able to connect your RV to electric. Do not expect to run both air conditioners as 30 amp seems to be the largest service. For the true RV experience – water hookups are provided – much better than camping in a tent! Some really good news is that a sewer connection is provided. I do not know about you, but I cannot live without 802.11 Wireless Internet and this park has it so that is a good thing. You had better hope you have satellite if you are a TV Addict – no cable tv at this park. Animals are welcome here. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. A neat thing about this park is that it does have some waterfront attached to it. Bring your skivvies this park has access to a pool. Some shade trees do exist, which also make the park more scenic and attractive. Do not just drive by Port Republic – instead stop and rest at THOUSAND TRAILS/CHESTNUT LAKE.
