Long Description
HOLIDAY VILLAGES LAKE FORK is a RV Park in or near the town of Quitman. It is a fairly small park with a claimed 30 rv sites to park your home away from home. This park has pull thru sites for your convenience. If you are driving a large Class A, then you are in luck since there are some extra long pads. Electric hookups are provided. You will be thrilled to know that 50 amp service is provided. For the true RV experience – water hookups are provided – much better than camping in a tent! Some really good news is that a sewer connection is provided. If you are lucky, you might be able to use your cellular for internet, but otherwise there is no 802.11 Wireless Internet. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Your pet is welcome at this park. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. Bring your swim suit this park has access to a pool. Shade trees are at this RV park so you will be able to sip mimosa in style. I am confident that the kind folks at HOLIDAY VILLAGES LAKE FORK would want you to give them a try if you are passing by Quitman.

This is not a typical RV park by any means. The general public can not use the park. A person must purchase a package to be able to use the RV park.
You can’t call up the park and ask for reservations.
After purchasing a lot at Holiday Villages, Lake Fork, I was informed of this rule. We had been told that we could use the rv park at a reduced fee and if we had anyone that wanted to visit us on our lot, they could bring their RV and park at the site for a reduced price.
NOT TRUE! That was simply a sales pitch by the owner of the lot we purchased. We were shocked to find that there are no public restrooms at the park either. You must be a verified owner of the camping package in order to use the public (non-Public) restrooms. So, if you visit your lot and don’t have a structure built or you want to mow your grass, you can not find a bathroom anywhere on the property to use. You will have to drive several miles to find a convenience store that will allow you to use their restroom. That can be a real problem especially if you want to tent camp on your lot. You have absolutely no place to use the restroom. There is a restroom at the office but, I am sure they don’t want a camper to use it. No provisions for a shower either. Due to people entering the resort and doing damage to the restrooms, they have been locked. There are currently no gates at the guard shack. Anyone can enter or leave the resort at any time. Gates are supposedly being made but, no such animal for several months. There is no security guards at the guard shack. Just people sitting and watching as people come and go. No security to call if you have a problem while you are at the facility. You must call Wood Country Sheriffs office and they are over five miles away and it take s a while for them to arrive. Not a good feeling if you are at the facility and need help.
I do not know what this facility is even listed as an RV park. You can not rent a space at the park for any reason. The rv park stays mostly empty at all times. I have never seen more than a few rv’s parked at one time. I believe you have to pay a substantial fee for the package to be able to park at the park. More or less a time share. They also have condominiums that are available with the purchase of a package… You would have to call the facility to find out about the price of that also.
The entire development is mostly vacant. Many, many lots are not sold and the grass grows up high on many of the lots during the growing season. Many structures are is disrepair and look terrible. There are supposed to be laws and rules about property owners responsibilities but, apparently, nothing is done to the violator’s…
Most of the roads are in need of serious upkeep. There are speed bumps that will knock your automobile out of alignment if you drive over them and don’t see them. These bumps make it almost impossible for a fire truck to enter the resort. Underage children often run all over the resort in either golf carts or four wheelers and are unsupervised. It makes it very dangerous at times. Trash is often burned on lots and that is a violation also. Not much seems to be done about it either.
I would love to sell my lot and find another place to build or park my RV.
