HERON LAKE STATE PARK is a RV Park in or near the town of Tierra Amarilla. It is a somewhat large park with a possible 304 spots to park your coach. This park has pull thru pads if you are uncomfortable with backing your rig. Your very long RV rig should have no trouble in the longer slots this park has. No need for a generator since the park has electric. There is NO 50 amp service at the park. For the true RV experience – water hookups are provided – much better than camping in a tent! Probably due to the nature of the park and its location, sewer connections are not available. Be prepared to actually put the computer down and enjoy your coffee as there is no 802.11 Wireless Internet. You had better hope you have satellite if you are a TV Watcher – no cable tv at this park. Go ahead and bring along little Paws since this park is Animal Friendly. Some parts of this RV Park are more rustic than others with tent camping being accepted. We tend to enjoy parks that have some connection to a waterfront, like a river or lake – and this park has that. If the days get hot, you can enjoy the shade trees that exist here. Do not just drive by Tierra Amarilla – instead stop and rest at HERON LAKE STATE PARK.
