The Extraco Events Center, home of the Heart Of Texas Fair & Rodeo, is the center of entertainment in Central Texas.  In the early 1950s, McLennan County voters elected to put $1.2 million towards a new entertainment and agricultural venue, culminating in the construction of the iconic Coliseum and surrounding grounds in 1953.  Today, its mission to produce events for education, entertainment and agricultural experiences while giving back through youth scholarships has had a positive outcome for Central Texans.  The premier facilities host over 225 events with an attendance of420,000 and a $47 million economic impact annually.

 

HEART OF TEXAS FAIR COMPLEX is a RV Park in or near the town of Waco. It is a largish and maybe almost large park with a listed 200 pads to park your coach. This park has pull thru sites for your convenience. Do not worry too much about the length of your large RV since the sites are built for large RVs. No need for a generator since the park has electric. One really nice thing is the 50 amp electric service. For the true RV experience – water hookups are provided – much better than camping in a tent! Sewer connections are provided. Be prepared to actually put the computer down and enjoy your coffee as there is no 802.11 Wireless Internet. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Your pet is welcome at this park. Maybe an anti-riff-raff rule, but tent camping is not accepted. Do not be a stranger, when you are by Waco, give the peeps at HEART OF TEXAS FAIR COMPLEX a call.
