GIANT CITY CAMPGROUND is a RV Park in or near the town of makanda. It is a almost small park with a possible 50 rv sites to park your camper. This park has pull thru pads if you are uncomfortable with backing your rig. If you are driving a very long camper, then you are in luck since there are some extra long pads. You will be able to connect your RV to electric. One really nice thing is the 50 amp electric service. Make sure you have water in the fresh tank as water hookups are not provided. You will want to ensure an empty gray and black tank as sewer connections are not provided here. Be prepared to actually put the computer down and enjoy your coffee as there is no 802.11 Wireless Internet. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Your pet is welcome at this park. Some parts of this RV Park are more rustic than others with tent camping being accepted. If the days get hot, you can enjoy the shade trees that exist here. I am confident that the kind folks at GIANT CITY CAMPGROUND would want you to give them a try if you are passing by makanda.
