CALAMUS STATE RECREATION AREA/HOMESTEAD KNOLLS CAMPGROUND is a RV Park in or near the town of Burwell and directly on the Calamus Resevoir. It is a medium park with a reported 83 sites to park your camper. This park has no pull thru sites. The owners of the park were careful not to claim that the park can handle a Big Rig. You will be able to connect your RV to electric. You will be thrilled to know that 50 amp service is provided. Regardless of other connections, water, surprisingly enough, is not a provided service. Probably due to the nature of the park and its location, sewer connections are not available. If you are lucky, you might be able to use your cellular for internet, but otherwise there is no 802.11 Wireless Internet. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Animals are welcome here. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. If the days get hot, you can enjoy the shade trees that exist here. Do not be a stranger, when you are by Burwell, give the peeps at CALAMUS STATE RECREATION AREA/HOMESTEAD KNOLLS CAMPGROUND a call.

From the RV52 peeps : I am from Nebraska and you will seldom find a place so remote, so quiet, and so amazingly wild yet still not have to drive all the way to Canada. No there are not mountains, but the prairie can be very beautiful and you are located at the beginning of the sandhills.
