Four Winds RV: A Brief History
Four Winds International, a well-known brand in the recreational vehicle industry, was founded in 1990. The brand quickly built a reputation for its quality, well-designed Class C motorhomes. Initially focused on providing affordable, feature-rich motorhomes, Four Winds’ commitment to customer satisfaction helped it carve out a loyal customer base in the RV market.
In 1992, Four Winds International was acquired by Thor Industries, one of the largest RV manufacturers in North America. This acquisition brought Four Winds into a larger family of RV brands, allowing it access to better resources and manufacturing capabilities. The brand continued to flourish under Thor Industries, with the 5000 Series becoming one of its most popular lines. Known for producing durable, family-friendly motorhomes, Four Winds specialized in delivering value-packed RVs with thoughtful designs and quality craftsmanship.
Eventually, Four Winds International evolved into Thor Motor Coach after a 2010 merger of Thor Industries’ motorized brands, solidifying its place as a major player in the RV industry. Under the Thor Motor Coach name, the legacy of Four Winds continues, with new models that reflect the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation.
