Known for their iconic style and solid construction, these travel trailers have carved out a respected place in the RV community. In this article, we’ll take you through the history of Nomad Travel Trailers and highlight what makes these RVs unique, helping you understand why they continue to be popular among RV enthusiasts.
A Brief History of Nomad Travel Trailers
The Nomad Travel Trailer brand has a long-standing legacy in the recreational vehicle industry. Originally produced by Skyline Corporation, Nomad trailers quickly became known for their durable construction and practical design. Founded in 1951, Skyline was an early innovator in RV manufacturing, helping to shape the growing industry in the United States.
In the 1960s and 70s, Skyline Nomad Travel Trailers gained popularity due to their functional interiors and affordability, making them accessible to a broad range of consumers. With an emphasis on quality materials and attention to detail, Skyline built a reputation for producing trailers that could withstand the rigors of travel. Nomad trailers were designed to be towed easily and provide a comfortable, reliable camping experience.
As the RV market evolved, so did Nomad Travel Trailers. In 2014, EverGreen Recreational Vehicles, LLC acquired the rights to manufacture Nomad RVs. EverGreen continued the tradition of excellence, focusing on sustainable materials and modern, eco-friendly manufacturing processes. Nomad trailers under EverGreen featured improved designs and innovative amenities, aligning with the preferences of contemporary RV enthusiasts.
After EverGreen RV ceased operations in 2016, the Nomad Travel Trailer brand faded from production. However, pre-owned Nomad trailers remain popular in the used RV market due to their high-quality build, spacious layouts, and enduring appeal.

I am having a problem with the microwave. Replaced fuse, but still shuts down the circuit. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Marlan at Rv52 says
David – Is your microwave DC? In my Open Range it was AC. Fuses tend to mean DC and breakers AC. What is the fuse size you are using? Send a snapshot of you microwave’s front cover of the manual or the microwave if it shows a model number.
