hello my wife and i looked at a 2012 komfort trailer a 2410RK. i am looking for as much information i can on this trailer……I was wondering if it is a allseasones trailer…..where you do not have to worry about things freezing up in the winter. also since this is no longer in production will i have a hard time finding replacement parts as they wear out…..any information you can give me would be much appreciated.

As thin as these things are I’m not sure that just having an all seasons designation makes you worry-free. Our Open Range had a layer of coroplast (go to RV52 front page and search for that term) and then insulation, then pipes and floorboards. They piped some warm air underneath as a way to heat the zone just under the floorboards. But we used electric heat since we had shore power. You can run through lots of propane using the furnace. We DID use the Open Range all year long – but lets face it – that was in Texas – so that is fairly easy cold weather duty. We did have 30 straight days of freezing, but we dripped water all the time.
Most of the parts on RVs I think are pretty standard and you can find replacements for most that will park you awfully close. So if you know the underlying manufacturer that will be a big help. I think it is more helpful to think of the RV as more like a house on wheels than a vehicle.
Don’t be afraid to hire an RV mechanic to check it out before you buy. Water damage in the unit is the worst. The wood is just not design for that and you can get rotted walls, roof, and floorboards pretty easy on an RV.
