Hi. We are going to be going FT very soon. I’m wondering if anyone could basically lead me in the best direction as far as a brand, model, manufacturer who is top notch. We could go o a large high end class A BUT we really want to explore and boon dock, etc.
A large A I do not think will be as great as I think it would be for these types of adventures. I love the space they offer and all the luxuries and comforts of home BUT we want to get off the beaten path for extended periods. I am looking at class C’s and C plus sized, I don’t want to go to big but also don’t want to be too small.
Is there one manufacturer who you would say is above the others? I’m in between looking at large A’s, C plus or C plus toy haulers as the toy hauler seems to let us have the final say in the set up of the garage and make it as useful as we want and need it to be.
We definitely need to ac units. Ideally 3 separate sleeping areas, and a shower that is outside of the toilet and lav sink.
Any thoughts? I think if I’m being completely honest that we should keep it at 34 MAX to do all we can.
Any/ all advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
Ck.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I don’t have any recommendations on one manufacturer versus another. I had a friend buy a Tiffin and after a “wring-out” voyage or two and a warranty repair trip it was finally what he wanted it to be. Mr Tiffin actually met with him to make sure it was correct.
I think when thinking about Rv quality you have to be quite practical and think “home built on wheels” rather than a car manufacturer. This statement will take some time to sink in but let it sink in.
Another way to think about it is this – If the manufacturer relies on sales turnover to be solvent the focus will be on sales sales sales and quality is made up for in warranty. I’m not faulting this, I’m just noting the prevailing industry norm. If the manufacturer relies on customization of single units to be solvent, then the price will be sky-high, but the unit should be very sound. See the difference? It is a one-time custom house versus a tract housing concept. Again, compare to the housing industry NOT the manufacturing industry. Just my opinion.
Neither a Class A or Class C will be much for getting off the beaten path. Large toy haulers won’t do that either. I think a critical look at what “off the beaten path” means might be worthwhile. I see lots of these rock-climbing kids using truck campers or Class B vans for the more adventurous trips. Again, you will likely have to pick your poison.
