LAKE WHITNEY STATE PARK

Lake Whitney State Park is in easy driving distance of three major cities, with museums, restaurants, shopping and more.

We offer water activities galore, from fishing and swimming to boating and skiing. On shore, you can explore our trails, see the stars, try geocaching, or set up camp. Rent our group recreation hall or camp for your next  gathering.

The park has a boat ramp and a fish cleaning shelter. We also loan fishing gear for use in the park. You do not need a fishing license to fish from shore in a state park.

A wide variety of wildlife lives in the park. Watch for deer, raccoons, snakes, armadillos and opossums. Wild turkeys and bald eagles have also been sighted here.

LAKE WHITNEY STATE PARK is a RV Park in or near the town of Whitney. It is a medium park with a reported 88 sites to park your recreational vehicle. This park has pull thru pads if you are uncomfortable with backing your rig. Do not worry too much about the length of your large Class A motorhome since the sites are built for large RVs. No need for a generator since the park has electric. Do not expect to run both air conditioners as 30 amp seems to be the largest service. No need to fill the freshwater since there are water hookups. You will want to ensure an empty gray and black tank as sewer connections are not provided here. The park has a more authentic camping experience than some RV parks due to the lack of 802.11 Wireless Internet. Really this shouldn’t be an issue for campers, honestly, but there is not a Cable TV hookup. Your pet is welcome at this park. Not sure this is a good thing for a high class RV experience, but tent camping is allowed. This park has some waterfront so you might get to enjoy the added benefit of the peace of water. Some shade trees do exist, which also make the park more scenic and attractive. I am confident that the kind folks at LAKE WHITNEY STATE PARK would want you to give them a try if you are passing by Whitney.
