Description
I absolutely love my USB speaker phone. I have found that it outperforms a higher end studio-like (not a full-blow studio mike) microphone call the YETI. It just does a better job of focusing on my VOICE instead of every other noise in the house.
I use it for the following situations:
- When working from home I use it for phone calls with my cell phone and Mac OSX hand-off capability through Facetime. This sounds really complex, but basically, my cell phone is managed by my Mac and I can now use my speakers and much easier address book look-ups.
- I use it with when making videos for ScreenFlow. I also use a headset with the ScreenFlow too. But this Plantronics USB speaker phone seems to record just as good quality sound as a headset w/ a boom mike.
- I use it with straight ole Facetime.
- I use it at work instead of the speakerphone in the conference rooms IF we use Skype. As of yet, the dial-in conferences are too shaky.
This USB speaker phone from Plantronics comes with:
- A carrying case
- The USB speakerphone
- A USB cable
It requires no additional power and is easy to hookup and lightweight to carry. I can, like most of the products on the RV52.com store, personally vouch for this speakerphone.
One time, my wife came home and she needed to concentrate. One neat feature is that you can plug in a headset for listening through the speaker phone and still use the microphone portion of it. What this does is save on fooling around with computer settings when you need to be quiet.
It has really good sound quality too. I use it when I want to make something louder than my computer speakers can handle. Sheri has a little trouble hearing so often when I want to share a video with her the speaker phone comes in quite handy.
