Just catching up on the week’s postings – been very busy with work and school. Appears many others have been busy as well.

Skip: I’ve done many landing on left or right main gear over the years – as Pete said – always interesting and challenging. Have not flown in many years now due to insulin dependence but do miss it. Oh well.

    Linda: Great graphics as always.

As for the weather – let’s see – we broke a record low at 5 degrees that was over 120 years old (actually the lowest ever recorded for this area since they started keeping records.) We had a dusting of snow followed by a better dusting of ice – made Sunday morning driving a real blast . Now all the vehicles are covered in salt and we are expecting freezing drizzle this evening. Of course, tomorrow afternoon’s high is expected to be in the mid 40s, rain Saturday with highs in the 50s, possible rain Sunday and then the temps go down again for next week. A weather laboratory – for sure. As they say, if you don’t like the weather now, just wait a bit and it WILL change =D>” title=”Applause” /> .

Best to all out there, be safe, stay warm.
Statistics: Posted by <a href=skypilot — Thu Nov 20, 2014 4:57 pm

BJ: GOOD looking buck there! Obviously good hunting out your way.

Allan: Thanks for taking your time to take the young men out and getting them started.

If you will excuse my jumping up on a soap box – it is much better that we hunt than to let these animals over whelm the environment and end up dying due to lack of food/water and harsh weather. More humane and it provides jobs as well as food for those who like the meat but don’t hunt. Off the soap box :D

Again, congrats and well done to both of you!!!

Nice buck BJ ! I don’t hunt anymore. Where we live it would require having a deer lease or having a good friend that has one. Just more trouble than I want in my old age. I would gladly get back into it if we lived in the country instead of the city. My grandfather was a big hunter of any wild animal he could find. And that was plenty where they lived in northern Minnesota. He left me a couple of shotguns and an old 30-30 rifle he had used as a deer rifle for many years. I also had a couple of handguns. Unfortunately these firearms were all stolen during a burgulary of my apartment when I lived in Florida. I just never got around to replacing them.

Good grief! I sound like a dad blamed teenager – making BJ’s story all about me. So back to what I meant to say –

    NICE BUCK, BJ !!!

You know that I have always said, “I haven’t found a receipe yet where you can par-boil the antlers and make them fit to eat”. I am not a “head hunter” but when the opportunity presents itself, well you might as well take it, so that is what I did. We have 91, one pound pkgs. of ground venison in the freezer and 30 pounds of boneless steaks. The head and hide went to the taxidermist and all is well. Now I think the second round will be this weekend, granddaughter, grandson and son-in-law are coming back to hunt some more. Any deer taken will then go to the Mennonites and be made into summer sausage. I had 76 pounds of summer sausage last year.

Now I have to get back to clearing the barn site so that the new barn can be built, burning and hauling trash. I have to get the site cleared by the end of the month. B.J.

Sorry everyone … I just can’t help it!! I was trying to keep with the Fall colors before Thanksgiving but it’s just so hard to do. With the cold weather and all the Christmas commericals on TV, I’m really getting excited about Christmas!
Soooooo I will just sneak some Christmas stuff in once in a while .. OK? Image

But just so you know I haven’t forgotten …

Thanksgiving is but a week away!

What are some of your traditions & plans? Image

Joe sounds like you really lit up the neighborhood for years, I know that must have been such fun … and work! I know that Frank would love to be down to one tote. I’ve really tried to cut back each year because I am somewhat obsessive! It’s just getting harder and harder to get the totes up and down our stairs.

I’m glad you tried Pro Noel, and thanks for telling me! I do think it’s my favorite, (I did try them all). Since I’m starting early I’ll probably change a time or two … to the other Christmas themes. I love this one because of the red and green ornaments on the side … guess the green is for go … when we have a post to read, how cool is that!

Jim Buffalo is just toooo unbelievable! And to think I complained of a dusting around here! #-o

Aren’t you glad you don’t live in Buffalo? They’ve had a year’s worth of snow in four days, and it’s supposed to be mid 50’s at the end of the week.

re: fridge fan noise. We have a 2012 Silverback 29RE and I sit right next to the fridge on the street side slide out. I can definitely heare the fan when it runs. Not too annoying but wish it didn’t occur. I asked a tech at Lazy Days, Tucson and he said it’s normal cycling and the noise in unavoidable if I am sitting that close. Hope this helps.

I am now Pro Noel, too! For years, we went all out to decorate our house. It used to take me several weeks and I used to pull an average of 60 amps of current for my Christmas decorations. Thank God for Georgia Power’s budget billing program! LOL! Our neighborhood was the place to go in Camden County at Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we put out luminaries and changed our “U” shaped street into a one way street. Thousands of cars would slowly drive through from dark until about 1030 or so. We easily gave out 300 to 500 candy canes each year while dressed in our Santa hats. This year, since we are full timers, we have a 2 1/2 foot fall tree for inside and a couple of strands of lights for outside! All of our holiday decorations fit in one tote box!
