Amen Doug. I would normally use a slightly harsher word than “dang”. When I had an oven (wish I still did), I would have to lay on the floor with my head on the oven door, shine a flashlight so I could see where the pilot was, push the knob and hold it and then with my third hand, light the fire stick and hold it on the pilot until it lit and would stay lit.

Getting the canister off can be a bear. Make sure you relieve the pressure in the water system. I recommend, after turning the water supply to the trailer off, that you open both cold and hot water on in the coach until the pressure bleeds off. Use the wrench that comes with the system and loosen the canister. I sometimes have to hold the top of the filter assembly to keep it from pulling loose from the wall. You will get water spilling from the canister as you loosen it.
When I have it off, I use a small amount of “plumbers grease” on the O-ring and canister threads. I also use Walmart or Lowes universal charcoal filter elements as a cheaper alternative to the one that comes with the coach.

It’s the dang pilot light. They don’t make it easy. We always start one
of the top burners first to be sure we have a good gas flow. Then turn the
oven knob to PILOT. Get on your knees with a propane match stick lighter.
Push the oven knob in about a quarter of an inch while lighting pilot with
the lighter. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries before the pilot ignites.

I seem to be having a problem on how to use (light) the oven in our Cedar Creek. Does anyone have any hints?

Ours is opposite, as you are facing it the right switch, next to two knobs controls light and flame on/off, while the left knob controls the heat on/off. The single knob on the left has one knob next to it, the thermostat. Turning it clockwise makes the temp higher, we can tell when the heater is turned on because the lights dim ever so slightly.

If you get the model number, part number, and serial number off the label on the top of it you can call Demplex at 1-888-346-7539, they will assist you in troubleshooting.

Where are you that you need the heater?
