Raining in Austin

This probably doesn’t seem like much to people around the US, but it is raining in Austin Texas today ( May 6, 2012 ). It is pretty wonderful stuff!

A family RV – 3 to 4 can live and 6 or more can camp

This is really just swapping a popular bunkhouse floor plan such that the bunkhouse is in the front and the master bedroom is in the back. I have a HUNCH that Komfort did this so that the weight of the bedroom slide-out balances out the unit a little better and it doesn’t make the bumper hitch too heavy.

Its a really nice floor plan and Komfort has a nice design (like airstream somewhat) for their interiors.

The DISTINGUISHING features ( here is a list of pretty standard items for a travel trailer ) for this trailer are :

  • Two slide outs
  • Rear Master Bedroom + slideout
  • Electric Jack
  • Freestanding Dinette (means you can do more with that space)

RV Review – Forest River Palomino Puma 26FBSS Travel Trailer 2012

A great family vacation rig with LOTS of weight carrying capability

This is one of best equipped Puma’s I’ve seen. Normally, I don’t look too hard at the carrying capacity of the RV’s. I’ve seen it go as low as 500 pounds, which is crap, and in the toy haulers upwards of 2.5 tons.

I just happened to glance at the specs on this travel trailer and was amazed to see that it could carry OVER 4,600 pounds of ‘stuff’. That doesn’t sound like much, but for the full-timers, it allows them to slowly accumulate stuff without really worrying about going over weight. Our fifth wheel has a 1600 pound capacity so I don’t worry too much, but that is nothing compared to this travel trailer. I would say this is extraordinary.

I love that they have the “cubby” bunkhouse in the back AND the bathroom. This means that vacationing with the kiddo’s will be much easier. The horseshoe kitchen table allows extra folks to sit at the table and that is worth a great deal.

Since our first RV was a Puma we view them as a solidly built, if a little bit dull, RV which is pretty tough. The specs on this unit make me think that is still true.

The DISTINGUISHING features ( here is a list of pretty standard items for a travel trailer ) for this trailer are :

  • One slide out
  • Rear Bathroom
  • Bunkhouse
  • Horseshoe dinette design
  • NOTEWORTHY : over 4,600 lbs of carrying capacity
