RV Review : 2011 Winnebago Vista 32K Class A Motorhome

This is one of those good ‘first units’ for a first motorhome. The Winnebago Vista 32K Class A Motorhome. I will say that RV’s really don’t look that stylish, but this unit truly does look like a brick on wheels.

Notable features :

  • 32 feet
  • gasoline powered
  • 2 electric slides
  • bunkhouse
  • improved holding tank (black tank, gray tank) sensors (thank the good Lord!)
  • generator
  • 6 gallon hot water heater – i would think for a class a, 10 ought to be the minimum.
A very utilitarian RV that makes good sense for your first class A.

Toilet Paper Holder : Really?

I’m reading the feature lists on lots of different RV’s. It seems that a key part of marketing your RV is to have a list of basic features that looks impressive. Here is a Jayco Class C’s list of features.

I find the following items listed as features :

Toilet paper holder
Towel holder
Towel ring

I have to wonder are these really even worth mentioning? I mean really, a toilet paper holder? Even if you DIDN’T have one in your RV, you could install one from Home Depot for about $5.

As I’m doing these reviews, I’m finding it difficult to really list distinguishing features and those little lists make it more difficult.

I’d love to have your input but I’m finding the key features typically are  things like RV type, length, fuel type, number of axles, some smaller features (black tank rinse), an add-on or two (generator), some configuration items (bunkhouse), and number of slides. After that, the number one differentiator seems to be the brand – since brand determines fit, finish, attention to detail, look and feel, and other things that seem to hinge around the idea of style. For example, a 32 foot Airstream with a generator gives you a pretty good command on what the unit might be.

Love to have your ideas.

RV Review : Jayco GreyHawk 31FS Class C Motorhome

Clean and neat little Class C, perfect for a couple to travel the country

See my video galleries for lots of Motorhomes!

For some reason, I’ve never video’d a Motorhome until the Greyhawk. But there is no time like the present.

No reason I picked this one over any other but the Jayco Greyhawk 31FS Class C Motorhome is a clean little Class C Motorhome. Remember a Class C is built on a truck frame and has a truck cab that may even be separate from the camper.

Notable features (or things that define this unit):

  • Gasoline powered (which seems crazy as diesels have so much more power per gallon)
    • I’ve since heard that many of the gas powered RV’s are now reaching 12-15 miles per gallon, so maybe this isn’t a bad approach.
  • Bunkhouse so that this makes a nice family vacation unit
  • Outdoor grill
  • Electronic Awning
  • Onan Generator
  • Black Tank Rinse
  • Big refrigerator
